ARTISTIC DIRECTION & INSPIRATION
In my portfolio I presented all the various art forms I connect to and that each represents a part of me. I started with the different kind of photography art forms/ fields I worked on through out my journey to keep a clear organized ensemble vision but the projects that are the dearest to my heart and that I’d like to present within the residence inside the Herzl Studio are the Fine Art Photography (underwater), some of the Portrtaits section, the Poetry, the Collages, the Paintings and the Music projects. These are the ones that are connected by an invisible string of meaning and depth that I want to associate together to form a bigger scheme, one bigger interlinked project, a patchork mosaic of the emotions I’d like to enlighten.

This project explores the fragile dichotomy of existence, waltzing between life & death, light & engulfing waters and all the liminal places and sharp edges in betweeen we touch the surface of.
It portrays the fight of a consuming crippling loneliness & delves with feelings of entrapment, void, isolation, fear of abandonment, forgetting and losing control, escapism, doubt, anxiety, grief, anger & despair while oscillating with hope, questionning, faith, longing, forgiveness, dreaming, resilience & rebirth.
Through out all these scattered pieces, a few totem words and nature elements are frequently reoccurring : the blood, the waters, the white fabrics, symbolysm of truce, redemption, purity, surrender, hope, the wilting roses, the fire, the tears, the ether, the daggers, the fallen angels, the broken wings, saints, Gods, kingdoms, empire etc. I love to embody complex paraodoxical emotions and thoughts within a melancholic, sensitive, fragile, poetic, cinematic, vulnerable & liminal world like fragments of old dreams moving and scratching the surface of each other. I like gravitating around the notions of digging within inner complex hues of emotions and hardships each one of us can encounter, the light and the shadows, the self reflection and the connection to nature and the sacred to form a bigger chain and transform individual precise detailed fears, scars and thoughts into a universal sharing experience.

I love to dig inspiration from my own wounds and the ones from people surrounding me as well as ancient mythological, biblical and royal tales. I’m truly moved and passionate about Gothic, Renaissance, Victorian era and architecture as well as Pre Raphaelite painting movement and symbols.
For exemple, the underwater pictures were inspired by the painting and tale "Ophelia" by the British painter John Everett Millais.
I’d like the exhibition to be an immersion inside my head, heart, soul and bones and giving this sensation of drowning or being held underwater as well as these movements of transition, flowing, floating through the journey and experiences shaping the waves. I’d like to print the fine art photographies in big format within glass frames to embellish and give the texture of water and print some of the portraits section and paintings in smaller format with close-ups on certain details like hands, lips, blood, flowers falling on the ground. I’d like to project the poems onto the walls with a projector in the dark to give a private access to internal thoughts and organize dry burgundy flowers arrangements and melting candles inside chandeliers onto table clothes and on the floor while my voice is echoing with reverb in the background to simultanously give the gloomy silent dull appearance of the abyss, the depth of the profound waters as well as ancient castles, ruins, remnants and destruction, remembrance of a sense of chaos, beauty, time flying by, compulsive obessing thoughts looping and rebuilding oneself endlessly, sewing back each piece to each other not to regain your old lost form, not to shape a new self but a continuum of oneself, slightly different, always in movement and reconstruction through the fractures of life.
